Speak languages with AI
Privacy Policy · Effective 2 November 2026The short version. Your conversations never leave your device. There is no Veyra account and no Veyra server. The free version shows ads and sends anonymous usage and crash reports to Google; you can turn the reports off, and Veyra Plus removes the ads. Nothing you say to your companion is ever part of either.
Veyra is an iPhone and iPad app for practising spoken languages with an AI companion. Everything you create or say in it is processed on your device by Apple's on-device models and stored only on your device:
We run no servers for Veyra, so we cannot read, copy or recover this data. Delete all data in Settings erases it from the device. Deleting the app erases it too.
Conversations are generated by Apple's on-device model. Speech recognition normally runs on your device as well. For a few languages, iOS may process speech on Apple's servers when the on-device language asset is not installed; Veyra tells you when this applies. That processing is done by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy, not by us.
Microphone and speech-recognition access are requested the first time you start a conversation, and each can be refused or revoked in iOS Settings. Veyra never records in the background.
Some features download assets from Apple the first time you use them (speech models, premium voices, translation language packs). Those downloads are requests to Apple and contain none of your content.
Veyra does not ask you to sign up. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number or contacts.
The free version of Veyra shows ads and collects anonymous usage and crash information through Google services. This is the only data that leaves your device, and conversation content is never part of it.
| Service | What it may collect | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK) | Device identifiers (the advertising identifier, only if you allow tracking), coarse location derived from IP address, ad interactions | Showing and measuring ads, limiting fraud |
| Google User Messaging Platform | Your consent choice | Asking for consent where the law requires it (EEA, UK, some US states) |
| Google Analytics for Firebase | Anonymous app events (screens used, feature use), device and app information | Understanding which features are used |
| Firebase Crashlytics | Crash logs, performance and diagnostic data | Fixing crashes |
None of this is linked to your identity by us. Google processes it under its own terms: see how Google uses information from apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy. Subscribers to Veyra Plus do not see ads.
Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not see or store your payment details. Veyra checks your subscription status on your device through Apple's StoreKit.
The Veyra widget, Live Activity and Siri shortcuts read a small progress summary that the app shares with them on your device. Nothing is sent anywhere. Siri requests you make are handled by Apple under Apple's terms.
Practice reminders are scheduled on your device and only if you allow notifications. They can be turned off in Veyra's Settings or in iOS Settings at any time.
Veyra is not directed to children. Companion characters with romantic themes require a one-time confirmation that you are 17 or older. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Because we hold no personal data, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete on our side. For data held by Google (ads, analytics), use the controls above or Google's privacy tools. If you are in the EEA, UK or California and have a request, write to appwells31@gmail.com and we will explain what applies.
Your data stays in your device's protected storage. Analytics and crash data are retained by Google according to its default settings.
If this policy changes, we update the date above and, for material changes, tell you in the app.
