LAPSE

Days left, at a glance

Privacy Policy  ·  Effective 26 September 2026

The short version. Lapse collects nothing. There is no account, no server and no analytics. Your passport, your medication and your milk stay on your device. Nobody — including us — can see what you track.

1. What we collect

Nothing. Lapse has no backend. We operate no server that your app talks to, we run no analytics or crash-reporting service, and we include no third-party advertising or tracking code.

Our App Store privacy label reads Data Not Collected, and it is accurate rather than optimistic.

2. What stays on your device

Everything you put into Lapse is written to your device's own storage:

None of it is transmitted to us. Deleting the app removes all of it from your device.

3. The camera, the microphone and on-device intelligence

Lapse reads dates off labels and understands what it is looking at using Apple's on-device frameworks. Recognising text, classifying an image, counting objects and transcribing speech all happen on your iPhone or iPad. No image and no recording is ever uploaded, to us or to anyone else.

Camera, photo-library, microphone and speech-recognition access are each requested at the moment you first use the feature that needs them, and each can be refused or revoked in iOS Settings without breaking the rest of the app.

Dictation is transcribed on-device. iOS may download a speech model the first time you use it; that download is a request to Apple, not to us, and contains none of your content.

4. iCloud sync

If you leave iCloud sync on, your things are synchronised across your own Apple devices through your private iCloud database. This is Apple's infrastructure under your Apple Account. We have no access to it, no credentials for it, and no way to read it.

Turning iCloud sync off in Settings makes Lapse entirely offline: no network traffic of any kind leaves the app.

Data held in iCloud is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

5. Subscriptions

Lapse offers an optional subscription. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your name, your card, your billing address or your Apple Account.

Your app asks Apple whether a valid subscription exists. That exchange carries nothing about the things you track.

Subscriptions are managed and cancelled in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions, not by us.

6. Notifications

Reminders are local notifications, scheduled and delivered by iOS on your device. They are not push notifications, no server sends them, and their contents never leave your phone.

7. Children

Lapse is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13. As it collects no data from anyone, it collects none from children.

8. Deleting and exporting your data

9. Your rights

Laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you the right to access, correct, export and erase personal data a company holds about you. We hold none, so there is nothing for us to return or erase — and nothing for us to sell. Your data is already in your hands, and the export and delete options above are always available.

10. Changes

If this policy changes, the effective date at the top of this page changes with it and the revised policy is published here. We will not quietly begin collecting data under an old date.
